Password protect a Word document

Protecting a Word document with a password.
The document must have a name
Press:
Alt + F followed by I
Tab to protect and press enter
Down arrow to Encrypt with password and press enter
Type in Password then tab to O.K. and press spacebar
Type in Password again
Tab to O.K. and press spacebar
When you close the file you will get the prompt to save it do so as the password is part of the document properties
When you try and open you should be prompted for the password.

Note:
I have seen a lightning strike scramble the password and the file could not be opened.
Before giving a file a password:
Press F12 and give the file a new name so you have two copies.
That way if the password protected file ever gets corrupt, you will have another.
